PIL to Present at AIChE Spring Meeting

PIL’s associate, Leandro Labanca, will be presenting “Integration of Ultrasonic Antifouling Devices in Heat Exchanger Network Retrofit” at the 2014 AIChE Spring Meeting & 10th Global Congress on Process Safety in New Orleans, Louisiana on Wednesday, 2nd April 2014. The meeting is the year’s key technical conference for practicing chemical engineers and covers a wide range of subjects relevant to the current needs of industry.

Mr. Labanca will introduce an industrial preheat train revamping study carried out in China. The background procedure and proposed options will be presented. Historical data before and after revamp are listed to show the actual implemented benefits. Moreover, the analysis identified the best locations to install ultrasonic units in the revamped HEN to minimise fouling.

The presentation is under “Topical 7: 17th Topical on Refinery Processing” (#141) Energy Conservation. The session will address new developments related to energy conservation in refineries and gas and petrochemical plants. Other topics of interest will also cover new equipment and processes, novel catalysts, cogeneration, integration of refineries and petrochemical plants, integration of process and power plants and design techniques and methodologies that identify energy saving opportunities.
