PIL has close links with the Centre for Process Integration at the University of Manchester, an institution that has been at the forefront of the development and implementation of conceptual process technology since the 1980s. Indeed, the field of conceptual chemical process design, as practiced in the petroleum, petrochemical and chemical industries, is dominated by the research output from the Centre. Many thousands of industrial projects have been executed successfully around the world based on its output – yielding technologies that PIL is now in the fortunate position of being able to commercialise.
